Who Will Challenge Jimmie Johnson in 2010?
have to wait 3 months and don’t get me wrong, it will be a long 3 months. I strongly dislike Sundays without my NASCAR. A few years ago I would have never envisioned myself saying that but let’s get on to are topic. Jimmie Johnson is now the first four time champion in NASCAR so where do we go from here. On the surface there seems to be absolutely nothing standing in Johnson’s way of a 5th championship but I do believe we will see a new champion next year. After last year we all thought Carl Edwards would be the most likely contender to break up Johnson’s streak of championships. Edwards did not win a race all year and despite making the Chase he was never really close. He will have a better year next year but he will not be the one to knock Johnson of his throne. That person will come from Joe Gibbs Racing. I would not want to bet on either Kyle Busch or Denny Hamlin simply because I think there is a strong chance they will finish 1st and 2nd next year.
