Local high school agriculture shops from Mt. Hermon, Pine and Franklinton high school will be constructing the wood duck boxes and we greatly appreciate the assistance of these outstanding facilities. The description of the wood duck box: The duck boxes will be made from cypress lumber. The front will be 8″ x 16″, and the back will be 8″ x 18″. The sides will be 10″ x 16″ in the front and 18″ in the back. For the top, a board 10″ x 18″ will be used with a 4″ x 3″ hole drilled out for entrance into the box. There will be a side door to allow easy access for cleaning, a wire mesh ladder to allow baby ducklings to climb out and shavings on the interior bottom to keep ducklings warm. What will be provided and the cost? The wood duck box alone, without the pole, is $30. The cost including the 4×4 treated pole and varmint guard is $50. Please remember, your help and support are greatly needed, and all profits will be used to build the boxes for Lee Memorial Forrest and Bogue Chitto State Par
