Who will benefit from Simple Sentence Structure?
Children with Down syndrome who make errors in the processing and production of sentences in correct Subject-Verb-Object word order. Children with autism will benefit from the direct instruction to establish correct word order processing and production. Children with specific language impairments who are already speaking in short sentences, but make errors in comprehending and producing Subject-Verb-Object word order. Children with significant language delays who are in the late one-word stage of development. At this point, they have a core vocabulary of over 100 words but have not yet begun to combine words.
