Who will be accepted as a student at Pine Woods Retreat?
The Recovery Program is designed for adults (age 18 and older) who are Learning to Live with serious mental illness. Serious mental illness includes the schizophrenia spectrum disorders, the major depressive disorders (such as major depression and bipolar disorder). Applicants must be motivated toward rehabilitation and not currently dangerous to themselves or to others. If they also have a substance abuse problem (as many do), they must agree to participate in substance abuse therapy and to remain free of substance abuse while in the program.
