You have your terms all messed up. Casting sites are NOT agents. A casting site is an easier way of submitting, and can be used to find some student films and such. You can essentially submit a headshot and resume to any casting director, but major productions and such usually don’t accept submissions. No, these sites do not guarantee employment. However, neither does an agent or a normal submission. An agent can send you on the audition, but then it’s up to you to get the job. You can mail an envelope and be called in to audition (again, not for studio films and tv), but it is up to you to get the job. Sites like Actor’s Access are completely legit and have really great student film roles to which you can submit. Then, if they like you, they will call you in to audition. Then it is up to you to get the job. A) There are tons of reputable agents that you can find on either SAG’s or ATA’s website.
