Who were victims of Tijuana acid hitmen?
TIJUANA, Mexico, March 25 (UPI) — Mexican authorities Friday investigated four alleged Tijuana hitmen believed to have disposed of some of their victims in vats of acid. The four were arrested in the border city earlier this week in a raid that turned up more than four tons of marijuana, nearly a dozen automatic rifles and metal tubs filled with concentrated hydrochloric acid. The San Diego Union-Tribune said Friday federal police reported the suspects confessed to 15 homicides carried out on behalf of the Arellano Felix drug gang, apparently using acid to get rid of the remains. It was not known who the victims were or if any were residents of the San Diego area, just across the border from Tijuana. The Arellano Felix gang has terrorized the Tijuana area for several years and has more recently been involved in a ruthless and violent turf war with traffickers based in other areas of Mexico.
