The Spice Girls were a five member English girl band that shot to fame in the mid nineties. Their debut single ‘Wannabe’ instantly put them on the map as being one the hottest bands on the pop charts. The band sold close to fifty three million records and produced three albums that were massive hits all across the globe. They enjoyed so much commercial success that the girls also made their own movie titled ‘Spiceworld’ that was a huge hit at the box office. The Spice Girls are thought to have played an important part in getting women music groups back to the fore. They managed to set a number of trends with their clothes, accessories and hairstyles as well as coined the now infamous term ‘Girl Power’.
