Christine McGlade was hostess from 1979 to 1986, and Alasdair Gillis co-hosted with Christine for parts of 1985 and 1986. Alasdair took over as host for the rest of 1986 after Christine left. The official host of the 1987 season was never clear, but newcomer Chris Bickford got the job of hosting the show for the 1989 and 1990 seasons, which some suspect was due to his uncanny resemblance to Alasdair Gillis. During the show’s run, other kids occasionally hosted the show in the regular host’s absence.
