Who were some American novelists writing around the same time as F. Scott Fitzgerald?
Hemingway was a big one. Also William Faulkner and Steinbeck were writing about the same time. [EDIT] Most of Hemingway’s works were published after 1929, but he did write some short stories before, as well as The Sun Also Rises, published in 1926. Pretty much all of Faulkner’s most famous novels were published during and after the 1930s. The Sound and the Fury was published in ’29. And almost all of Steinbeck’s works were 1930s and after. Zora Neal Hurston and Langston Hughes were also writing about that time.
