Who were Paul Reveres companions during the midnight ride?
Paul Revere and William Dawes both rode out from Boston to warn Sam Adams and John Hancock that the British were sending troops to arrest them in Lexington. They were then suppose to ride on to Concord to warn the militia units there that the British were going to try and seize the arsenal there. They actually took separate routes in the hope that at least one of them would get past the British horse patrols deployed earlier in the evening to intercept them. Both riders evaded the British patrols and got to Lexington. After the exchange of gunfire on Lexington Green Revere rode out to get ahead of the British and get word to Concord before they got there. He met up with Dr. Samuel Prescott, a resident of Concord out on a late house-call, and told him what had happened in Lexington. They rode together until they ran into one of the British horse patrols. They split up and ran.
