Who went to see Kandinskys exhibition at the Tate gallery..?
I happened to have visited Tate gallery when Wassily Kandinsky’s (1866-1944) work was under display. I think he must have been one of the very first artist to exhibit paintings without any recorganizable object long before 1900. What I like about his work, was his dislike for the values of progress and science that were influential in many of the paintings of his time. He instead longed for a regeneration of the world through a new art of pure inwardness which was also portrayed in some of his works displayed at Tate gallery. If you real want to understand his role in the development of art, you have to go back to the period of art between 1900-1944. His work under display, stressed the psychological effects of pure colour as a means of expression, you can call it Colour Musical Art. You will also be collect to say that he laid down the path to Abstract Impressionism.
