Who was the winner of Dancing With the Stars season 8?
There was no way I could’ve endured watching the entire two hours of Dancing with the Stars Season 8 finale as they brought back all of the former contestants to strut their stuff on the dance floor again. I tuned in just in time to watch the Top 3 couples get ready to do dance for the judges final scores (at about 10:19pm EST). Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas brought back their dance to Michael Jackson’s “PYT” – they were fantastic! Shawn is just too cute. Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani did their samba with such finesse. Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke did the tango with full drama. Gilles is such a hottie and he dances so well! Lady Gaga was the special guest and performed her single “Love Game.” I found it difficult to listen to so I turned down the sound. Melissa and Tony ended up in 3rd place. So the DWTS Season 8 Champions ended up being Shawn and Mark! Gilles and Cheryl did a great job, but Shawn and Mark were more entertaining all along. Congrats to them! Sources:

Were you as shocked as I was when Shawn Johnson’s name was called over sexy actor Gilles Marini as the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ champion for season 8? I believe my jaw dropped similar to her partner Mark Ballas who couldn’t keep his mouth closed when Tom Bergeron announced the Olympic gold medalist as this season’s winner. Although the 17-year-old’s dance moves had come a long way since the competition began, as the youngest competitor ever to grace the ballroom floor she admitted herself she didn’t understand some of the emotions behind a lot of the mature dances. Conversely, Gilles gave sex, sex and more sex! (Didn’t you think Carrie Ann was going to jump over the judges table and attack the poor man?) Less than 1% separated Johnson from “Sex and the City” actor Marini, who appeared to be a shoe-in for the mirrorball trophy throughout the competition.
