Who was the Team Titans Leader?
It was actually the much-loathed Danny Chase. Originally, Marv Wolfman said he was meant to be an adult Danny Chase. It was revealed in the series to be Monarch. “That was part of the idea of making Danny Chase tolerable,” editor Jonathan Peterson admitted in a 2005 interview with titanstower.com. “We could make him like John Conner from Terminator 2. He goes from whiny kid to leader of the rebellion.” As the series began to sputter, the powers-that-be decided to cancel the title. At the same time, DC was planning ZERO HOUR, which would redefine the DC Universe. It was an ‘opportunity’ to dump DC Continuity garbage, and I suppose DC considered this alternate future team as part of that. So after-the-fact, Phil Jimenez and Jeff Jensen weaved Monarch as leader of the Team Titans. It is unknown WHOSE idea it was to do this.
