Paul J. Madigan was the Warden from 1955-1961. The escape took place on 11th June 1962 under the administration of an acting warden but I can’t find any reference to this man’s name. Following the escape of Morris and the Anglins, the prison fell under intense scrutiny due to its deteriorating structural condition and the diminishing security measures that had resulted from governmental budget cuts. This development should not be credited entirely to the escape, since many of these decisions were already in process before the attempt was made.
