Who was the painter of The Starry Night and Portrait of Dr. Gachet Commits Suicide?

Starry Night was painted at Arles in 1889 by Vincent van Gogh It is said by some to represent his depression during that period. For me it shows the need for a spriitual center. If you look at the painting there is chaos and movement and toward the center of the piece is a small church. I think that represents humanity’s need for a stablilty in a changing world. Also its pretty. Portrait of Dr. Gachet is also van Gogh her is a excerpt from wikipedia on it “There are two authentic versions of this portrait, both executed in June 1890 during the last months of Van Gogh’s life. Both show Doctor Gachet sitting at a table and leaning his head onto his right arm, but they are easily differentiated” The Dr cared for van Gogh during the last months of his life. It should be noted that he did not commit suicide van Gogh did.
