Who was the luckiest 49er that struck rich in gold?

Most 49ers did not strike it rich, of course. I think the guy that got the luckiest–and certainly got the richest–was Samuel Brannan. Though I have to admit, he wasn’t a miner. In any case, we’ll talk more about him in a week or so.
