Actually there was no Conservative Party of Canada, in 1992. The closest party would have been the “Progressive Conservative Party” …You might think that’s just the same party with a different name, but that’s not the case: The modern Conservative Party was actually formed by a merger of the Progressive Conservative party and the Canadian Alliance party. This new party was not formed until 2003.
