In England, the Enlightenment starts during the reign of Charles II, continues through the brief reign of his brother James II, then William III and Mary II, James’ daughter and son in law, succeeded by Anne, their daughter, then Sophie’s descendants George I (German George) of Hanover, George II, and George III (Farmer George). All these people have some connection to the Stuarts. Charles, James and Mary directly, then Anne through her mother, and Sophie was a granddaughter of James I. Queen Elizabeth’s grandfather changed the family name from Hanover to Windsor during WW I.
