Who was the first woman to swim the English Channel and in what year did she do it?
We weren’t sure exactly where to start, so we decided to browse rather than search. From the Yahoo! home page, we worked our way to Recreation & Sports, then Sports, and finally arrived at Swimming and Diving. Once there, we were presented with several more categories, as well as a list of approximately 20 sites. A few looked promising, but we figured the International Swimming Hall of Fame would definitely have some mention of the historic swim, so we clicked on it. We arrived at the site ready to dive in. Imagine our disappointment when, after several minutes of clicking around, we were unable to find the answer. The site doesn’t offer a search tool, which made our task even more difficult.
