Who was the first to create funnel cake?
The funnel cake is originally associated with the Pennsylvania Dutch. It is my understanding that Alice Reinert, a Pennsylvania Dutch lady, first sold them commercially when she began making Funnel Cakes at the Reading Fair in 1965. She then started selling them at the Bloomsburg Fair. She later sold them in Philly. She did a lot of advertising locally when she started selling. When she was in Philly, local radio and TV stations did features on Alice and her business.
