The US Civil War was fought from 1861 to 1865. The Mexican War was fought from 1846-1848…the FIRST PHOTOGRAPHS ever taken during a war, were taken during the Mexican War; some are images of mounted US Dragoons in New Mexico (US Dragoons were “Mounted Infantrymen”).
