Well this depends on whether you are talking about heavyweights that never were contenders or Heavyweight Champs. It’s really hard to call someone crappy that actually won the title so here is my opinion on the less skilled heavyweights or disappointing contenders; Jess Willard was a very large man standing about 6;6″ and 245 lbs that did defeat an out of shape and past his prime Jack Johnson. He was rather ponderous and did not have very good boxing skills. But nobody can say he wasn’t tough or that he lacked courage as he took perhaps the worst beating in a heavyweight title fight to Jack Dempsey, but kept getting back to his feet. Primo Carnera was a big man too like Willard at about 6;5 and weighed about 265 lbs. He actually had a pretty decent jab and moved around the ring fairly well. His main problem was a lack of power and a weak chin. He took a terriffic beating at the hands of Max Baer but to his credit, never quit as he had the heart of a Champ at least. John Tate. Actually
