Who was rosetta stone for?
The Rosetta stone is a copy of the Pharoah’s “new” tax policy (as of 196 b.c.) and was essentially used as a public “billboard” to be set up outside of the temple so people could read it. The Rosetta stone was written for the priests and the people so that they could see the “generosity” of the Pharoah who had decided to roll back taxes on the temples to what they had been in ancient times.
