Who was ronald reagan?
Ronald Reagan was born in Illinois, and graduated from Eureka College in 1932. After graduating, he became a radio sports announcer. During the ’40s and ’50s, Reagan appeared in 53 films. Reagan entered politics in an unusual way; he was the president of the Screen Actors Guild, and became involved with the question of Communism in film. This experience made Reagan a conservative, and in 1966 he was elected Governor of California. Shortly after taking office, Reagan was shot, but not killed, by an assassin’s bullet. President Reagan’s administration tried to cut taxes and reduce the government budget, but continued to spend big on national defense. This led to a growing deficit. Despite his apparent inclination towards force, Reagan tried to improve relations with the Soviet Union.
