It’s been a few– the first one was Hillel Slovak (who died around ’86 due to drug overdose), then John Frusciante who left briefly due to trying to cope with his drug problems. During that time, Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction) and Arik Marshall subbed for a while. John Frusciante then returned, and continue’s to be the lead guitarist.
