Who was Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes and how did she get that nickname?
Lisa Lopes, also known as Left Eye, is one of those performers that people just can’t seem to forget after her death. She rose to fame and popularity as part of the girl group, TLC. Their most popular songs were Waterfalls and No Scrubs. She was called Left Eye because at the beginning of her career she wore glasses with a condom in place of the left lense to promote safe sex. After a bad end to TLC where she fought openly with the other girls she went on to a solo hip hop career. She had a volatile personal life too. The most noted incident was when she burned down her boyfriend’s home even though she always maintained that she was only trying to burn his shoes. Unfortunately, while on a retreat in Honduras she was killed in an automobile accident. Like so many who died too young, she is not forgotten and she still has a very strong fan base around the world. http://img2.timeinc.net/ew/dynamic/imgs/020430/103853__lisa_l.jpg Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 st1\:*{
