Jim Henson was the original creator of The Muppets, including Sesame Street characters. He started by creating ‘Sam and Friends’, a short puppet show for WRC-TV (Channel 4.) Later he (and his Muppets) gained more popularity doing Wilkins Coffee commercials. He died in 1990.
