See 1st Kings 11:26. Jeroboam was the son of Nebat but more importantly found favor in Solomon’s eyes and he put him in charge of a large project. God found fault in Solomon and used Jeroboam to lead 10 tribes out of the twelve. God stated that he must lead as God commands but he does not and the tribe of Isriel becomes a ungodly nation.
