Who was Jamie Bell?
Jamie Bell (1944- 2002) was a leader and an active participant in the High Park Citizens Advisory Committee and many other local charities and organizations. In 2003, the playground was aptly named in honour of Jamie Bell, who first raised the idea of a community-built playground in High Park and served as the General Co-ordinator of the High Park Adventure Committee. Jamie’s hard work, commitment and dedication did not go unrecognized. Location The playground is located just inside the High Park Boulevard entrance to High Park, at Parkside Drive. From the Boulevard entrance take the first left, the playground can be found at the bottom of slope next to the duck pond. Park is available in the zoo parking lot. The playground can be reached from the Grenadier Cafe parking lot by following Deer Pen road through the zoo. Hours of Operation The playground is open year round, dawn to dusk and is unsupervised.
