Who was/is the worst President of the United States?
For a number of years, those who know more than most of us about such things, have generally conceded that the all-time worst President was James Buchanan who preceded a guy named Lincoln who is generally regarded as the greatest. Others on the list of worst have included such noteworthy names as Franklin Pierce, William Howard Taft (who once got stuck in the White House bathtub), Calvin Coolidge, Herbert Hoover and Jimmy Carter. However, it appears that poor old James B. is going to have to step aside for a new claimant to the throne and title of all-time worst, for when the current occupant of the White House, George W. Bush leaves in January, 2009, barring a major miracle of some kind, he will assume the title of all-time worst. Why Bush?
