Who was involved in the decision making process and research?
A- The Central 911 management team. This group of senior managers has approximately 100 years of combined 911/public safety experience. This is an odd response. Since I don’t know how many managers there are this number is meaningless. Are there 100 managers with 1 year of experience each? Is it an old boys club consisting of 5 managers who have been running the show for the past 20 years? Is it just one really old guy? 3. The system in place in Portland (saying the new system is in three counties when all three counties are in one metropolitan area sounds like someone is trying to fudge the numbers) may have been in use for three year but we have see it is prone to failure as well. I actually discussed the system being in Portland with a friend of mine who used to be a 911 dispatcher there and he said originally the system was rejected because panicked people cannot manage a phone tree. Also, KVAL was unable to get a callback from the Portland 911 dispatch center to see how the system
