Who was involved in drafting the National Development Plan?
An intensive consultation process, involving Government Departments, the Social partners (representatives of trade unions, employers, farmers, and the community and voluntary sector), Regional & Local Authorities, and the Western Development Commission, informed the formulation of the National Development Plan. A major study National Investment Priorities for the Period 2000-2006, was undertaken by the ESRI, in addition to two studies on investment priorities in each of the Regions. The Department of Finance has overall responsibility for the implementation of the N.D.P..
