Franz Schubert’s father was Franz Theodor Schubert and his mother was Elisabeth (nee Vietz). He had ten siblings who died in infancy, and five who survived. His surviving sinlings included his brothers Ignaz, born in 1785; Karl, born in 1796; Ferdinand, born in 1794 and he had a sister, Maria Theresa, who was born in 1801.
