Who was houdini?
He was a magician and he is very interesting Harry Houdini (March 24, 1874 – October 31, 1926) whose birth name was Ehrich Weisz (which was changed to Erich Weiss when he immigrated to America), was a Hungarian American magician, escapologist (widely regarded as one of the greatest ever), stunt performer, as well as a skeptic and investigator of spiritualists, film producer, and actor.
Most of the answers are correct about him being an escape atist and magician. Bookish and Owlkev are wrong, Houdini spent the latter part of his life very successfuly exposing fake mediums, as a magician he knew where to look for the tricks. Each country he went to on his world tours, he successfuly exposed their ‘best’ psychics, before he died he told his wife that psychics would come to her and tell her that he was sorry and they were right all along. He gave his wife a code, and if the psychics who came to her volunteered the code she would know they were genuine. True to his prediction, after he died, many psychics approached her with ‘messages’ from him, not one told her the code.
