Who was Dawn Steel?
This is the interactive music demo(called Global Conflict) I submitted to Stainless Steel Studios when they were looking for a DirectMusic composer to score “Empires, Dawn of the Modern World.” Stainless Steel Studios is the company that developed the original “Empire Earth”. It was founded by Rick Goodman who was a co creater of Age of Empires and Ensemble Studios. The music remember is MIDI driven in realtime, meant to coexist with a game running, and was written in 2001 so I couldn’t use full CPU\RAM of the box. Hence the quality and variety of the instruments has to be limited. I made it the best quality as I could under the restraints. The app I demo at the beginning is my own creation called “DMDemo”. The authoring tool (Direct Music Producer) in the second half is Microsoft’s ^^ Anyway, I wanted to go people a taste of what I’ve spent my post DBZ career working on.
