who was Aldo Moro and what did he mean to Italy?
Well Italy had and has all kinds of Political parties and they fought back and forth and no two could agree. They would get a vote of no confidence and the government would fall and that happened if I remember correctly at least four times while we were there from early 1976 to lthe mid summer of 1980. Aldo Moro was the only one who all of the parties trusted and he was the one who could have united them all and made it work. So the terrorists, and if I remember right it was the red guard who kidnapped him,took him and it turned the whole country upside down there were road blocks and car searchs and finally weeks later after his family had been thoroughly traumatized and the whole country was scared they found his body. They had tied his hands behind him and shot him in the back of the head and stuffed his body in the trunk of a Fiat. It dashed the hopes of the whole country for a government that worked.
