• Akhenaton ruled Egypt, as pharoah, from about 1350-1334 B.C.E, in the middle of the 18th dynasty. • Akhenaton is most famous for introducing monotheism to Egypt (meaning one god). Aton was the god they worshipped, the only god they worshipped. • Akhenaton was originally named Amenhotep IV, but soon after he changed it to Akhenaton (meaning servant of Aton). • He had a wife who was most famous for her beauty. Her name was Nefertiti.
