Who was 12th man for England v Australia in the 1981 Ashes test match at Headingley?
There may have not been an official 12th man it may be that onlu 11 were named and a Yorkshire player would have acted as sub fielder – that happens in England nowadays but if there was a 12th man… My guess would be John Embury because he definitely played at Lord’s but you don’t normally play a spinner at Headingley. It could have been Bob Woolmer as he also played at Lord’s Alec Stewart is far too young to have played in that series. If by Yellop you meant Yallop – a) he is Australian b) he played in the match.
