Who wants to help children living in a Garbage Dump?
Hello everyone! I just found an article in the New York Times about children in Cambodia that live in shacks in a garbage dump, and earn $10-12 a month collecting things to recycle. They live in horrible filthy conditions, and some of them ave injuries from getting hit by the garbage trucks. The article mentions a charity that funds a shelter for these children, allowing them to go to school, eat nutritious food, and take showers (which understandably may not happen often if you live in a garbage dump). They have sponsors for the children, but that only covers half the cost of caring for each child for a year, so I thought I would bring it to the attention of the LinkedIn community. I know it’s a tough economy right now, but when you’re really poor a little money goes a long way.
