Who tunes the car for the runs?

0

The tune up that goes in the car is not the work of one person. Before every run the whole crew gets together to talk about track conditions, what the weather is doing, how the car has been running, and what we would like to run as far as time. After we have all discussed these variables and more we try to come to a consensus that everyone feels comfortable about. Generally we all have a little give and take in the tune up and after racing together for several years we all basically come to the same conclusions on what tune up to use on the car for a specific run. We did not however start out racing this way, nor is it always 100% our tune up in the car. In the beginning of our racing careers we relied heavily on Darren Mayer and Jon Salemi at DMPE (Darren Mayer Performance Engineering). Darren and Jon have helped us to learn the proper way to tune an alcohol car and after years of their help we have started to feel more comfortable with making all the tuning calls on the car.
