Who to put on my wedding guest list?

We have the same problem, but we have over 250 people on our list and whittles it down to 150 which was hard but we had to be brutal as we just simply couldnt afford it. Some people will understand and others wont, but its what happens with weddings, people see it as a celebration and dont think about the cost of it all. You have to do what you need to do, do not feel that you have to invite anyone, invite the people that mean the most to you. I have close friends coming to my day reception over certain family members, but the fact is, I dont see them except for at weddings and funerals! they would only be coming for the party. If you really want to have everyone, try cutting out the day reception and have a late ceremony and just an evening do ith a buffet etc.

Would you consider a pot luck wedding banquet? I hear it’s getting popular these days since many people are on tighter budgets these days. You can compile a bunch of recipes and hand them out and have people sign up to make certain things or just let them bring whatever they want. It can still be quite classy! Get some friends together to make a wedding cake too! It’ll save a ton of money. Since decorating a giant wedding cake can be difficult you can make a smaller display cake and have less pretty looking versions of the same cake you can cut up for guests. I hope you have a wonderful and memorable special day.
