I haven’t read the book or seen the film but the book is usually always better than the film. Your imagination brings the book to life in a completely different way than the director’s imagination can for you. Plus creative/artistic license allows the film to add or omit elements that make the story more adaptable for the screen. That’s why whenever possible it is recommended to read the book first.
