Who thinks Paul Williams is overrated?
The perfect fight for Williams would have been Kelly Pavlik, but it fell through. I expected Pavlik to KO Williams and end the love affair the public has had with Williams since the Margarito fight, but it didn’t happen. Paul’s inability to get a “name” fighter at the top of their game forced Williams to take on the older fighters, and until he takes out a peak A level opponent the criticism will continue, In my opinion he’s over rated, the Quintana loss showed a weakness in Paul, and eventually another fighter will exploit the same weakness. I expected Winky Wight would have given Williams trouble if Wink was a couple years younger, but time will tell. Paul is a big guy, he might even out grow the Middle Weight division before his career is over, and he never had the power that some of the other Welterweights brought into the ring, so until Paul can get a signature win at Middle Weight, (much like the Margarito win at welter) there will be questions.
