Who the Hell is Cajun Bob??
Cajun Bob is a shadowy figure that guides our design and construction philosophy. Cajun Bob is the personality and skill of all of the old-school Southern boatbuilders that we have learned from over the years, the men in the sheds that built from necessity in order to reach those good fishing holes. They learned what worked by trial and error and by experience…not by crunching numbers on a CAD program. What they have given us is a wealth of practical knowledge not available in books about boats with names like “sharpies” and “prams”. Over the years, I’ve come to realize that my father, who taught me how to build a boat in the shed, is the true Cajun Bob. I happened to walk up on him and my nephew a while back, building a new boat, he let the boy design it all in his head, no plans or prints, just free-hand. I jumped in and helped with the seats and whipped up the epoxy while my younger boys played around us, and in doing so, I felt the true power of boatbuilding, and I realized that
