Who the fuck calls Tool an emo band???
I first heard Chevelle’s ultra-produced This Kind Of Thinking which remains my favourite of their albums. Listening to their earlier work shows a very linear progression in how their sound has developed over time – from their raw, progressive rock beginnings to their super full-sounding melodic progressive metal current state. I’ve never really listened to them for their lyrics (which are not bad), but I’ve always loved their singer’s voice. Calling them emo is ridiculous and a label which could only be given by someone who recognises two types of music – “emo fag shit” and HEAVY FUCKIN’ METAL MAN!!!!!!! “Emo” is the new “gay” – it’s a word very trendy to call ANYTHING you don’t like, but rarely is used in its correct context. And by following that trendy fashion of calling every single fucking band you don’t like “emo” you are equally as much of a mindless fashion-sheep as the emo bands you “think” you hate so much.
