Who teaches Colloquium and what role will they play in planning my students academic schedule?
Each Colloquium section is team taught by a faculty advisor and a peer advisor. Peer advisors are experienced, academically successful upper-class students who work closely with first year students to become part of the Linfield academic community. Faculty advisors serve as the academic advisor for all students in their Colloquium section until students declare their major. Faculty and peer advisors help advisees plan their course of study and select appropriate courses. They also assist students in exploring interests and evaluating and selecting a major. Often, students look to their advisors as mentors, and many students become good friends with their advisors. Faculty and peer advisors who teach in Colloquium are sensitive to the needs and concerns of first-time college students and work hard to assist them in the transition to college life.
