Who tackles anti-social behaviour?
The Safer Swansea Partnership was set up under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 to tackle the problem of crime and anti-social behaviour. This Partnership involves the Police, Local Authority and many other agencies in a joint approach to reduce crime, the fear of crime and anti-social behaviour. The Partnership is based at the Divisional Police Head Quarters, Cockett, Swansea. What does the Partnership do? There are a number of responses available to the Partnership which range from a letter of concern, to an application to the Courts for an Anti-Social Behaviour Order. The first occasion on which the Partnership is notified of anti-social behaviour, a letter is sent to the person identified. In the case of those under 16 years a letter is also sent to their parent or guardian, warning of the consequences of any further incident. The incident and personal details are recorded on a computer database for monitoring and follow up. A second incident, or a more serious initial action, will
