Who Succeeded Sir Bobby Robson As Manager Of England?
After Robson’s announcement he would leave the post of England manager after the world cup finals of nineteen ninety, held in Italy, the FA appointed former Watford and Aston Villa manager Graham Taylor. Taylor lasted only three years in the job and despite his best efforts he could not raise the team to the level achieved by Robson. His task was not helped by the lack of quality around at the time with so many of Robson’s nineteen ninety sqaud either retired or way past their best. Taylor did lead the team to the ninety two European chmpionships in Sweden but the team flopped badly and after even failing to qualify for the nineteen ninety four world cup finals in the USA, he was removed from his post. In all Taylor led England for thirty eight matches in his three years in charge, winning eighteen, drawing on thirteen occassion’s and losing seven times.
