The Salem witch trials began due to the stories told by the Barbados slave girl that belonged to the Reverend Samuel Parris. The slave, named Tituba, would tell tales of demons and mythical animals to the young daughter of the Reverend Parris. The tales and other things started to stress the young girl and he acted out in ways that made some people believe she was possessed.
