Who started the Battle of Bataan?

0

This battle is in reference to the invasion of the Phillipines shortly after Pearl Harbor attack by the Japanese. The U.S. and Filipino troops stationed there put up a valiant, but fruitless defence. The lack of support by the U.S. high command resulted in huge causalties and P.O.W.`s. An infamous incident that came out of this battle was the Bataan Death March. It was an act perpetrated by the Japanese army on the captured troops on the march to their future prion camps. There were accounts of all sorts of brutality and outright murder of many captives and Filipino civillians who tried to aid the P.O.W`s. Some of these same men were later rescued in 1945 by U.S. and Filipino soldiers at the Cabantuan prision facility. It`s also of note that this invasion caused FDR to command Gen.MacArthur to depart via sea to Austrlia to live, fight and command another day. Also I personally have heard from soldiers present the day of the order to surrender that if they knew the hell they were to endure
